Anton: Amsterdammer, living on grace, mercy, music, coffee and homemade Mexican salsa. Hobby photographer. Deeply in love with my wife, Janet.
Janet and Anton Hein are online publishers, with websites on various topics ranging from Apologetics (the logical presentation and defense of the Christian faith) to Zumos (Spanish for ‘fruit juices’).
We have a number of travel information websites as well, and we help various Christian ministries maintain an online presence.
We live in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where I was born and raised.
Janet, who was born in England and raised in Ireland, is a licensed social worker & mental health counselor. She works at an organization that provides aid to victims of domestic violence. As a trained Experience Expert in Domestic Violence she trains professionals on how use their experiences in helping others.
We are experienced in helping people leave abusive churches and/or religious cults, as well as deal with the aftermath of their involvement in such groups. There are many similarities between cult intervention and domestic violence intervention. Together we have been able to help many people deal with the aftermath of their experiences enabling them to rebuild their lives.
Janet and I live and work in Amsterdam, which we highly enjoy. We promote responsible, sustainable tourism.
We have a wide range of other interests, not the least of which is cooking meals from Indian, Mexican, Indonesian, Spanish, and Italian cuisines. We love spicy food, and as much as possible try to use authentic ingredients. You will always find a variety of home-made Mexican salsas in our fridge.
What else? We love books, plants, high-quality coffee, and authentic cocktails. We live in a park, among the treetops. (And no, that does not mean we’re homeless).
Our passion is to help people live a life that overflows with God’s grace and mercy — without all the weirdness of what passes for Christianity nowadays. We’re are tolerant, open-minded, and respectful of everyone’s lifestyle.
Janet and I are members of Hoop voor Noord (Hope for North) — a multicultural church in Amsterdam-North.
You can read a bit more about us on our other website, where you can also contact us.
We wish you peace:
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4-7 (NASB)
